01. What qualifications should one have to apply for the bootcamp?
The bootcamp is aimed at all people interested in improving their level of Chinese may they be complete beginners or intermediate learners. Individuals with a sense of adventure are particularly welcome since the camps are way out of the way and things might go wrong something
02. Are accomodations included in your fee?
Yes! While most programs charge as much as we do, they do NOT include accommodations in their fees. With our 2 week bootcamp, you know exactly what you are getting yourself into. No hidden costs.
03. What kind of visa do I need to join the bootcamp in China?
A tourist visa or a business visa. Since this is program only lasts for 2 weeks, you are responsible for securing your own visa. If you need an invitation letter, we will be more than happy to forward one over to you.
04. What kind of accomodations should I expect?
Our bootcamps will always be help in remote locations within Hebei province. The accommodations will be shared with usualy two persons per room. It is possible that is some cases, there will be 3 people sharing one large room. We will try to find the most convenient and comfortable places for us to stay but participants should be aware not to expect western standards of comfort. There might be occasional water shortages or power shortages but nothing major. In any case, we promise western style toilets. Keep in mind that our cost is all inclusive when most programs charge more just for the classes.
05. What city would I be in?
We will depart from Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei province. Most camps will be held in a mountain lodge outside of Xingtai city. We will take care of transportation from shijiazhuang to the camp and back.
06. Do I need to be with New Times or HPIEEA to join this camp?
No! New Times teachers and members as well as friends and non-members are welcome to join in this camp. Given the support we have recieved from both organizations, as well as the fact that HPIEEA is sponsoring us, it is only normal that their members get preferential treatment and placement.
07. How about phone or internet , are they available?
This programm relies on total immersion. We will be far out in the mountains with no access to the internet except on sunday when we head back to the city for a day of leisure. Mobile phones will be available and an emergency contact number will be provided.
