WHO WE ARE? This intensive Chinese program was designed by a group of expatriates in China as well as local certified university teachers. It blends the latest approaches in instructional design with a sense of practicality often lacking in a Chinese classroom environment. The design team consists of two graduates from the Florida State University (in Tallahassee, FL. ), a lecturer at Tangshan teachers' college and 2 professors from the city of Shijiazhuang. The curriculum was planned from a student-centric perspective. The idea of the bootcamp came about after a long heated debate about how difficult it is for most westerners to learn the Chinese language and Chinese students to learn English. After many hours, the consensus was that most programs in China did not take into account the differences in culture, age and backgrounds when teaching the language. Following that evening, the first trial was planned back in may of 2005. Then, the first bootcamp was set for August of 2005 and was quite an achievement. Since day one, we have been lucky to benefit from the support of New Times International in regards to logistics and paperwork. Sinocamps.com is also proud of the assistance and guidance of Hebei Province International Education Exchange Association.
